Infiniti is a Japanese upscale automaker that was founded in year 1989. Its headquarters are in Hopewell Centre, Hong Kong and it is a division of its parent company Nissan. Marketing network of vehicles belonging to Infiniti brand comprises of two hundred and thirty dealers spread over fifteen countries.
Purpose behind inauguration of brand Infiniti was to create and manufacture premium vehicles for United States of America. As mainstream image of Nissan was very different it decided to go with Infiniti to launch luxurious vehicles.
In its first year, Infiniti started with two vehicles Q45, a sedan and M30, a convertible and coupe. It was followed by G20. During following years, brand started adding vehicles in its existing line-up. It was time for Q45 which found its market with features like V8 engine, 278 horsepower, active-suspension system and cutting-edge technology. Late 90s saw launch of an SUV, QX4. Although its sales figures continued to expand but it was unable to achieve desired popularity.
Early 2000 saw the brand making a single-minded effort to upgrade its products. Final boost to its popularity was provided by mid-size, entry-level G35 in year 2003. Its sedan and coupe met with huge sales and success and was followed by FX35/FX45, a crossover that included spirited acceleration. At present, brand Infiniti has further expanded its line-up to include G that has variants like convertible, coupe and sedan, FX, mid-size sedan M, crossover EX, mid-size crossover JX and large SUV named QX. It has also introduced its first hybrid sedan M.
2015 Infiniti Q40 Sedan is an updated version of G37 and is a luxury sport-sedan.
