Koenigsegg is a Swedish company that is connected with manufacturing of automobiles. It was founded in year 1994 by Christian von Koenigsegg of Sweden with its headquarters in Angelholm, Sweden.

Koenigsegg as a brand is actively involved in developing new programs and latest technologies like reciprocating engine for next-generation and plug-in electric-car system. Brand does not rely on other subcontractors, instead produces and develops in-house subsystems, main systems and components that are needed for manufacturing of its vehicles.


Brand Koenigsegg was launched with sole purpose of manufacturing world-class supercar. Sheer handwork and numerous years of prototyping and developing resulted in production of brand’s first street-legal vehicle in year 2002.

Koenigsegg in year 2006, started manufacturing of its new vehicle CCX. It used an in-house created engine that was especially made for this vehicle. CCX is street-legal in US and numerous other countries.


In year 2009, month of March, Forbes chose Koenigsegg CCXR as one of the most awesome and beautiful cars in history. In year 2010 December, Koenigsegg Agera was able to win Hypercar of the year award from Top Gear of BBC network.

2015 Koenigsegg one:1 is one of the fastest and rare vehicles as it has been decided that only six vehicles will be on sale. All released vehicles are already sold for a whopping sum of nearly 2.4 million. It has twin-turbo V8 5.0 litre engine with 1340 Est. horsepower and 1011 torque. It can achieve a top speed of 248 mph and weight distribution of 44% at front and 56% at rear makes it a fast ride.

Designers worked efficiently to provide a dynamic look. It has two intercooler-intakes, rear wing, air-flow directors, gills, air scoop, exhaust outlets, customized body stripes, brake callipers and mirrors. Interior is decked with carbon fibre materials and has removed extra luxuries to reduce body weight.

2016 Koenigsegg Regera is a megacar with a stylish exterior. It has ample design modifications to make it a sought after vehicle. Its frontal appearance includes couple of new headlights, front splitter for less drag and more force, air intakes and fitted air ducts under windshield on front hood, a couple of LED taillights along with rear-wing.

It also has a single central exhaust, side splitters, wheels of carbon fibre, electric socket, side air-intakes, rear-view mirrors and couple of additional air intakes for cooling of electric motor and battery. Koenigsegg enables the driver to open rear hood, front hood and both doors under remote system with Key-fob or from center console. Besides side view and rear view cameras it has an option of front-facing camera that allows a driver to have a complete view of car and its surrounding while manoeuvring or parking in confined areas.

Center console of this vehicle has been redesigned and entry is through cool-doors while seats are made from leather and carbon fibre. Its other classic and vital features include a powerful steering wheel, air-conditioning vents, LCD, Wi-Fi connection, standard-inductive charging and latest infotainment system.

Koenigsegg as a brand has been actively involved in development process, manufacturing and product selling the supercar line. It is also an active participant in Green Technology. This is visible through its various products like CCXR that has flower power and flex-fuel.
